THE CONCEPT
The lobby is the first enclosed space as one continues through the site. A dedicated exhibition space is the second largest room which features multiple surfaces to showcase local artwork and engulfs visitors in the landscape below. The overall room is separated with a series of steps and landings that trace the exterior grade. These steps are carved from the slate that lays below. The final space is the main amphitheater. Similar design languages such as carving the landscape to create stairs are used in this area as well. This space can accommodate up to 300 people as they watch or particle in traditional dances or other forms of cultural entertainment. Restrooms, storage, and other utilities are located throughout the overall layout.

DRAWINGS

Drainage is implemented capture rainwater from the surrounding landscape and natural slope of the architecture. Gravel is used as a natural filtration device. To warm the interior volume, water is pumped into the earth’s crust and brough back to the surface to bring.
